PART 1. Discussion

Action words simply express an action. The action is something the subject

of the sentence is doing.

The following are examples of how action words are used in sentences.

Examples:

 Anthony throws the football.

 The cat sat by the window.

 We will swim in our pool.

 Close the door!

 She accepted the job offer.

Remember:

The action words is in bold in each sentence. Action words doesn’t have to

describe movement; the action can be mental.
