【演奏の模様】（続き）
「メサイア」は合唱曲ですから、弦楽五部（5-2-5-2-1）管楽器Ob. Fg.Trmp.の他Celes.. Cemb.小太鼓と管弦が小規模なのに対し、合唱団は男声２６人、女声３９人計６５人の結構な規模でした。
全三部構成、約二時間半演奏、休憩一回（一部と二部の間）で、ソリストはAlt.の代わりにC-tenor.が入りました（他にSop. Ten. Bar.）。
左から中嶋（Ten.）大塚(指揮) 藤崎（Sop.）萩原(Bar.) 青木(C-Ten.) の各氏
指揮の大塚氏は東京藝大教授（古楽）です。
以下演奏及び歌の順に沿って記します。
〚PART ONE〛
No.1 Symphony
↳ 懐かしい古風溢れる旋律が流れ出しました。管弦の規模は小さいですが、中央前から数席目なので、しっかりとしたアンサンブルを認知出来ました。弦楽のフーガ的遷移も順調。
No.2 Accompagnato（Tenor）
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
↳一個一個の発音がクリアには聞こえなかった。
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem,
↳人口に膾炙した前奏旋律に続き、歌うTen.は、ここでの意味合いが後の全編に及ぶという前提を、良く理解して叫ばないと「Ｃｒｙ」の意義がかすんでしまう。
and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned. The voice of him that
↳赤字部分をしっかりと力を入れた発声が欲しっかった。
crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
No. 3 Air (Tenor) VWH

↳軽快なオケの旋律に乗って速いテンポで歌うが、切れが余り良くないし、繰り返しの xa のコロラトューラの歯切れが悪かったevery mountain and hill made low: the crooked straight, and the rough places plain:
No. 4 Chorus
ここで初めて合唱が入りました。男声、女声ともに２グループに分かれ、四声部の合唱で歌われました。先ず低い方から女声２→男声１→四声→男声１→男声２→女声→男声といった具合の輪唱で、大変美しくハモっていました。ここまでのソリストの歌がいま一つだったので合唱が生き生きと聞こえました。歌詞は短いですが何回も繰り返し部が多く結構長い合唱でした。神（＝キリスト）の栄光が現われることの賛歌です。⤵
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
No. 5 Accompagnato (Bass)
↳この語句は No2でも出て来た、オペラだと良く見る「ﾚﾁﾀﾃｨｰｳﾞｫ」という単語で、所謂ナレーターの説明みたいなものです。渋い響きのオケの調べで始まりすぐに歌に移行しました。
Thus saith the Lord of Hosts; Yet
↳ここで初めてバス（ﾊﾞﾘﾄﾝ）の登場です。萩原さんは、声量も有り深い分厚さもある声質の歌を披露しました。立ち上がりからこれは行けるという期待を持った。
once, a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come:
上記赤文字の母音部のコロラチュールも良く出来ていました。
The Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the messenger of the Covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, He shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
No. 6 Air (Alto)
ここではアルトに代わるｶｳﾝﾀｰﾃﾅｰ（c-tenor）の青木さんが登場です。c-tenはこれまで他の歌手で何回か聴いていますが、スムーズな発声と安定性が無いと、聴いていていい気分の声質とは思えなくなります。短いパッセッジでしたが、立ち上がりだったせいか、残念ながら声がかすれ気味の箇所も有りいいとは思えませんでした。⤵
But who may abide the day or His coming, and who shall stand when He appeareth? For He is like a refiner's fire.

↳女声から始まり→男声→女声と繋ぐ輪唱の合唱はしっかり決めていました。

↳まだまだ声が十分出ていない感じのC-ten.

ここのNo.８に来て C-ten.の青木さんは、初めて安定的な歌声を出し始めたと思いました。殊にこの最後のパッセッジはＯＫでした。続く合唱もこの最後の部分の輪唱で清透な響きがありました。

この12で初めてSop.の藤崎さんが登場、赤いドレスで文字通り紅一点でした。

↳まだ喉が潤っていないのか滑らかな歌唱とは言い難いものでした。
ところが次のNo13.を藤崎さんが歌うのが聞こえなかったのです。？？一瞬居眠りをかいたかな？でもズート眠くはなかったし、ヒョットして間引いた？いやそんなことは無いでしょう？

この辺りだったと思いますがバンダのトランペット（Trmp.）が鳴り響き華やかに神への栄光を歌い上げたのでした。
Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth, good will towards men.
No. 16 Air (Soprano)
ソプラノの藤崎さんはこの辺りになると詠唱はかなり改善された歌い振りでしたが、コロラトューラはいま一つの感じを受けました。 ↓
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee, he is the righteous Saviour, and He shall speak peace unto the heathen:

No. 17 Duet (Alto, Soprano)
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: and He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.
Come unto Him, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and He will give you rest.
Take His yoke upon you, and learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly of heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

以上雑駁でしたが、四人のソリスト及び合唱の《第一部》の演奏を例に挙げ、自分の耳で感じたことを書きました。的外れな処も有るかも知れません。（《第二部》《第三部》に関しても自分のメモと記憶には様々なことが残っていますが、今回は割愛します）
この第一部の最後の青木さんと藤崎さんの二重唱では、前半をC-ten.の青木さん、後半をSop.の藤崎さんが歌う掛け合いのデュエットでした。青木さんには安定性がより高まり、藤崎さんも良く声が出て来たと思いました。
演奏の詳細については以上の第一部に留め、文末には第一部の和訳、それから第二部、第三部の歌詞及び和訳を掲載するにとどめます。
結論的には、二部三部と回が進むにつれてソリストの調子も上がり（喉が潤ってきて滑らかになったのでしょう）、又合唱は最後まで神聖とまで言える響きを轟かせ、管弦楽は小編成ながらも場面場面で、力を発揮して存在感のある演奏をしていました。特にVn.部門の安定性、又たった二人のＶc.と一人のCｂ．でしたが、そのずっしりとした低音の響き、チェンバロもオルガンも地味だったけれど継続的な安定性のある出音、また特筆すべきはTrmp.とスネアのインパクトある演奏、Ob.もあったと思うのですが、アンサンブルを助け、何にも増してこれ等全体を最初から最後までコンスタントな動きで指揮指導していた大塚さん、全くいい音楽を年の瀬に聴かせて頂き感謝、感謝です。最後は会場から大きな拍手に迎えられ、アンコールまで演奏されました。「ハレルヤコーラス」でした。二回聴けたなんて
