While the S’mores Cookies, the (enormous) Mini Cakes, and the sell-out-every-Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pies from Costco’s bakery department are undeniably delicious, the frozen foods section holds its own treasure trove of unique treats that are worth exploring.

The freezer section is where you need to head if you want treats such as Nightengale Ice Cream Sandwiches (they have a banana pudding flavor!), Reese’s Frozen Fruit Banana Slices, or Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark Ice Cream Bars during the holiday season. It’s a treat lovers paradise. Just sayin’.

And now, Costco’s freezer section is where you get a treat that’s 50% ice cream sandwich, 50% chocolate coated ice cream bar, and 100% on our “must stock our freezer with them” list.

Lotte Ghana Ice Cream Bars at Costco

Produced in Japan, the Lotte Ghana Ice Cream Bars are a popular treat there and in Korea. The inside is vanilla ice cream shaped like a store-bought ice cream sandwich. On the outside, half of the ice cream is sandwiched between two butter cookies, and the other half is dipped in chocolate with an almond coating. It gives you the pleasure of enjoying two ice cream treats at once. A box of 12 small, 2-ounce treats is available at Costco for $10.79.

Costcohotfinds said they are “excellent” when posting about the frozen treat on Instagram. Aside from a lot of country of origin confusion (Lotte seems to have a presence in Korea and Japan, plus the bars are named Ghana, where the chocolate is apparently sourced), the consensus is that these are “soooo good,” as one commenter exclaimed. Another added, “It’s both an ice cream bar and ice cream sandwich in one. You don’t have to choose.”

“Out of all the Japanese chocolates on the market, Lotte Ghana is my favorite. And these ice cream bars are [so craveable]; better add a lock to the freezer if you got em at your house,” said another.

As for the two sides of the bar, one of costcohotfinds followers had a clever comment, “This looks like the Biscoff ice cream bar and the Kirkland signature ice cream bar hit up the wine section during closing time and had a baby.”

Next time you’re at Costco and looking for something sweet, add the frozen foods section to your route while you make your rounds to avoid missing out on this lock 'em-up ice cream bar. "They are amazing!"
