I take my sweets very seriously. As a former baker and cake decorator, I'm not wasting my afternoon snack or after-dinner treat on some throwaway chocolate that's been buried in the back of the pantry since last Christmas. That sacred time between 3 and 4 p.m. (or what I've lovingly dubbed "sweet treat o'clock") merits something special. Luckily, my favorite big box retailer just started carrying some of the best desserts I've ever tried, and just in time for summer.

While Costco may be known for its food court hot dogs, beloved $5 rotisserie chicken, and other bulk buying staples, it's also (somewhat secretly) the place I frequently find the best deals on some of favorite products from small businesses. And my latest Costco freezer find is no exception.

Costco Now Sells Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches

In our house, we know ice cream. In addition to my bakery background, my boyfriend actually worked as a Good Humor man in high school, so we consider ourselves experts. And while Ben & Jerry's and Häagen Dazs make some pretty good pints, another brand reigns supreme when it comes to the humble ice cream sandwich.

I can't remember the first time I tried Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches, but I do remember a friend telling me to look out for their homestyle-looking brown paper packaging and creative flavors like Banana Pudding, Key Lime Pie, and Black Forest Cherry. I also remember that once I tried them, I was never going back to any other ice cream sandwich.

Nightingale's frozen treats feature thick layers of super-rich ice cream between soft, chewy cookies. They never get so hard that they're tough to bite through, and the cookie is more like a bar cookie than a hard or crunchy one, making the whole eating experience texturally perfect.

I started noticing them popping up in the freezers at my local corner stores, and each flavor we tried was better than the last. The only problem? They were quickly becoming a pricey daily after-dinner habit. That's why I was ecstatic to learn that Nightingale has started selling its sandwiches at Costco. And I'm not the only one.

Nightingale had a viral moment on TikTok a few months back with its Banana Pudding ice cream, and now fans are taking to social media again to celebrate Nightingale's first foray into Costco. One TikTok user said they'd "hit the Costco jackpot" finding them in their local warehouse store, and I have to agree. Another Reddit user wrote, "Saw the best ice cream sandwiches being stocked," while a commenter on their post added, "If you haven't tried them, Nightingale sandwiches are truly life-changing."

Costco currently stocks one Nightingale product: an 18-pack of "chomp-sized" mini Cookie Monster ice cream sandwiches, which feature two chocolate chip cookies filled with cookie crumb-infused vanilla ice cream. The box goes for $19.99, which is way less per sandwich than I have ever found elsewhere.

The mini size is ideal for kids and adults alike, and was practically designed for my "sweet treat o'clock." I can't think of a better summer staple to keep on hand for parties and backyard BBQs, so stock up while you can—according to Nightingale's Instagram post they've been selling out quickly.

The only catch? They're currently only in 90 Costco locations across the Northeast for now. But, hopefully with all this buzz, Costco will take note and bring them nationally—my fingers are crossed (well, the ones not currently clutching an ice cream sandwich are crossed)!
