Allrecipes' editorial guidelines Published on October 8, 2023 Close Photo: Adobe Stock/Allrecipes While the last Harry Potter book debuted over 15 years ago, people are still captivated by the magical story. Part of the magic comes from the books’ descriptions of foods—those found in the real world and those that only exist in the fictitious world of Harry Potter, until now. In early September, “The Official Harry Potter Cookbook” was published, and it’s chockablock with Harry Potter-inspired recipes. Its list price is just a hair under $20, but Instagram’s costcobuys recently spotted it for $12.99, which is 35 percent cheaper than its typical price. The New 'Harry Potter' Cookbook at Costco The new cookbook is the follow-up to the New York Times bestseller “The Official Harry Potter Baking Book,” published in the summer of 2021. While that book naturally featured baking projects only, the new cookbook includes over 40 new recipes for sweet and savory meals, snacks, and desserts. If you’re trying to inspire the kids in your life to cook on their own and enjoy spending time in the kitchen, this book may be a great place to start. The recipes have fun titles (Hagrid’s Dragon Eggs, anyone?) to engage kids and grownups alike, as well as cooking tips to help kid chefs expand their skills and even magical facts related to the movies. Luckily, if you’re not a Costco member (or if your location is out of stock), you’re in luck. Right now, Amazon has the same $12.99 discount running on the book, and it can get to you faster than you can say “Accio, cookbook.” Given that it’s the season of witches and wizards and HP-rewatches and rereads, this cookbook will probably earn its place on your shelf quickly. Or, you can try your hand at our spooky (though slightly less official) recipes for butterbeer or witches’ hat cookies instead. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
