No one ever told us as kids how attached we'd get to things in the kitchen—stovetop burners, favorite spatulas, the only mug we'll drink our morning coffee from (even though there are 15 mugs in the cabinet). My kitchen has a whole stack of mixing bowls of various sizes. They're mismatched but so very useful. And, yes, I have a favorite one—the only one with a lid. It's Pryex, and it comes in handy for mixing foods and taking dishes to parties, picnics, and barbecues. That lid makes all the difference. Last week, Aldi brought us a beautiful glass pitcher that gave Pottery Barn vibes and highball glasses that rivaled William Sonoma's the week before. This week, Aldi has a set of four mixing bowls (with lids!) that look very much like my favorite Pyrex bowl. Aldi’s Crofton Mixing Bowl Set Crofton is Aldi's kitchenware brand. The grocery chain often offers versions of name-brand kitchen items, such as a copycat LeCreuset Dutch oven or Stanley tumbler, at a fraction of the cost. The current set of four Crofton mixing bowls with lids is a copycat of Pyrex's mixing bowl set with assorted lids that currently sells at Macy's for $49. Aldi's version costs $12.99 and comes with four multicolor or solid gray lids. Aldi/Allrecipes Other similarities between the two versions include that they are both dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave (glass part only) safe, and the bowls can be used in the oven—without the lids, of course. My mixing bowl with its lid often accompanies me to friends' and family's homes when I need to take a dish. The other day, I took it full of marinating meat to cook at someone else's house. With spring and summer get-togethers on the horizon, I see it as the perfect vessel to transport potato salad, baked beans, watermelon cubes, pasta salad, and so much more without spilling. The Crofton mixing bowl set will be in the center Aldi Finds aisle starting March 20. It's a limited-time offer, and Aldi items like this often last only a week. Was this page helpful?
