We have an unofficial trip anthem. It seems like it plays frequently and as we drive across these beautiful gigantic mountains, it just seems fitting.
Bigger than all my problems
Bigger than all my fears
God is bigger than any mountain
That I can or cannot see
Bigger than all my questions
Bigger than anything
God is bigger than any mountain
That I can or cannot see
The first 3000 miles of this trek I was the only driver. I thought I’d be ok, but this spring has been a rollercoaster health wise…. But I stepped out in faith.. God is “Bigger than all the giants of fear and unbelief” the song reminded me…
We sailed through so many miles of wasteland to get to the Great Salt Lake (at one point a sign on the interstate read “no services, next 110 miles) The experience at Salt Lake was definitely memorable- the girls enjoyed floating with ease. We added a bunch of birds to the list- like a yellow headed blackbird and a rainbow wowed us as we left
But the best part of Salt Lake City arrived in the middle of the night after 2 delays. So so thankful:
We were still singing our travel anthem 2 days later as Em was driving and we rolled into Hoover Dam. Suddenly an orange light appeared on the dash “low tire pressure”
“We want to drive across the dam” came the request from the back seat.
“Sure” I said “After we figure out what’s going on with the tire.”
The 10 miles to Boulder City stretched on and on as we watched the tire pressure dropping, but I googled tire shops and was relieved to find a Firestone Tire service right down the road.
The tire was audibly hissing as we parked. Inside the guy behind the desk was on the phone and could barely tell us that it would be 3 hours until he could even look at the tire. 🤔
Google directed us straight across the street to a local business where the guy behind the desk ran out, had the tire off and patched and back on the road in less than 20 minutes. Apparently we’d picked up a screw en route.
Beside myself with gratitude to not have to dig out the spare in the 105° desert. “Bigger than all my problems Bigger than all my fears God is bigger than any mountain That I can or cannot see…”
God takes such good care of us.
See ya down the trail,

Em got up in time to watch the sunrise and about got ran over by a mountain goat 😂
Hoover Dam (with proper air in all four tires 🙏🏼)
And then we pointed the van west again…
