Fried Oreos are a must this week.
I don’t remember the first time Aunt Thelma wowed us with them, but it became her special treat.
Really you should try them-pancake batter and Oreos fried in oil, dusted with 10x sugar. Zero calories, of course.
Auntie even went so far as to drag her deep fryer all the way to the Outer Banks to humor her nieces.
The twins turn 2 on Saturday, so we stuck a candle in 2 of them, and Alexander looked on with awe as we sang lustily.
Honestly I’m struggling to fathom that Aunt Thelma and Uncle Duane were both taken from injures from the crash last week.
Because my dad isn’t on Facebook, I’m the family representative on his sisters chat. I went back through the thread watching the conversation bat back and forth. Mostly it’s me silently trying to figure out who they are talking about and trying to remember to report back to my dad. But this comment 6 weeks ago:
“I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes would see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine…”
Same, my sweet auntie. Same.
I love you,
Kendra

We loved having Nate, Deb, and Alexander here for a very busy week. Alexander brought us big news.
The last time I stopped at Uncle Duanes, Aunt Thelma pulled out her baby sweater stash that she’d crocheted 1000 mi/hour.
“Kendra” she said “would your friends wear these on their babies? I’m to the stage I need to be clearing out stuff and getting rid of it so my sons won’t have to after I’m gone” ❤️
Excited to send a pink and a blue set to Alabama. Now on pins and needles which one will get used ❤️
