Carrelli discovers that the power is actually coming from her own self. They try to decipher the symbols on the bangle and concludes it could be either in Arabic or Urdu. She soon is able to harden the light so that she could stand on it. Later, Khan and Nakia Bahadir sprint down the street to the Islamic Masjid of Jersey City and get ready despite being late. Abdullah runs their lecture and the two girls talk about how the woman's side of the mosque is very run down. Abdullah calls them out for talking. After the lecture, Bahadir finds out that somebody stole her shoes, the 22nd pair of shoes that have been stolen. Bahadir decides to run for Mosque Board to make a change.

The next day in class, she notices something is wrong and sees that her nose is turning purple, like the light constructs from her bangle. Carrelli gets called into Gabe Wilson, Jr.'s office. Wilson excitedly tells him that he got into CalTech. However, Carrelli has second thoughts, so Wilson gives him a talk. Afterwards, Carrelli meets with Khan to start training again, but she tells him she is going on a date with Kamran instead. At a diner, they run into Khan's brother and his fiancée. Kamran disguises himself as their cousin who has grown up, Aamir falls for it.
At dinner, the Khan family eats with Aamir's fiancée, Tyesha Hillman. Yusuf tells the story of Muneeba's mother, Sana Ali, who got lost during partition, but managed to get back to the train just before it left the station. Kamala then suddenly had a vision from the bangle of a woman pointing at her. This causes her to pass out. Kamala then went alone to her room and called Ali, who tells her the bangle is from her mother, Aisha, who disappeared during partition. Suddenly, Yusef tried to open her door, but she closed it with her powers.
The next day, the family goes to Eid Mubarak. Bahadir asks Khan and Carrelli to spread pamphlets saying she is running for the board. Meanwhile, Zimmer gets called into United States Department of Damage Control and is tricked by P. Cleary, who uses her ego against her. He then tries to get her to admit that Night Light tried to kill her. Zimmer reveals that Night Light is Middle Eastern. Cleary tells Sadie Deever to search every temple, community center, and mosque.
During the festival, Hameed takes pictures from a ledge on his phone when he suddenly falls, only hanging by a curtain. Khan springs into action and puts on her Captain Marvel costume. Khan uses her constructs to step on them, like she practiced. She then saves Hameed, but gets another vision, causing her to lose her focus. Hameed starts falling, but she catches him with a construct under his feet, he then slowly slides to the ground.
