No Normal is the sixth and final episode of the first season of Ms. Marvel, as well as the series finale.
Synopsis[]
Back in Jersey, Kamala fights to save her friends from the clutches of Damage Control.
Plot[]
Sadie Deever checks the location after the Circle Q explosion. She advises her agents to use non-lethal rounds. Meanwhile, Kamran and Bruno Carrelli walk in the subway. Someone pushes Kamran, setting off his hard light structure. At her house, Kamala Khan announces that she is Night Light to her family, which gains are sarcastic surprised face from her brother and father who were already told by her mother. Suddenly, Kamala gets a call from Nakia Bahadir saying that Circle Q exploded. While Kamala tries to call Carrelli, to no response, Muneeba gives her a suit.
In the city, people stare up in awe as Night Light moves through the city using her hard light. Carrelli and Kamran find Bahadir in the mosque only for her to push her away out of safety and try to find them a better place. Soon, Deever walks into the mosque and threatens Abdullah before searching the premises. Deever is about to open a door when Bahadir stops her saying that the room is a holy place. Deever forces her to open the door, which Bahadir does, revealing her "boyfriend". In the bottom floor, Abdullah disguises Carrelli and Kamran before sending them on their way.
The two fugitives get to the alley where Night Light arrives. As Kamala and Carrelli hug, Kamran accidentally lets out a wave of energy in pain. As they run through the city, Kamala calls Kareem who gives her a contact to get them out of the city. They make it to the school where Bahadir arrives as well. Kamala apologizes for lying. Carrelli looks out the window to see the United States Department of Damage Control outside of the window. Suddenly, Zoe Zimmer arrives wanting to help as the D.O.D.C. tried to trick her. Kamala then makes a plan on the chalk board when Aamir shows up to help. Deever sits outside the school and calls P. Cleary, who is more worried about bad press, so he calls off the mission. However, Deever doesn't listen and calls in even more agents.
The agents break in to find what looks like a bomb at the entrance. They run, but the bomb sets off music instead. The fugitives distract the agents. Kamran taunts them from above while Zimmer tells her followers on TikTok what is happening. They grab fire extinguishers which creates smoke around the agents. Some agents get into the chemistry lab which sets off a chemical foam trap. Kamran and Kamala hide behind a desk, but Kamran's condition grows worse. Agents approach them, but their comms say they are by the gym instead. As the agents leave, Kamran and Kamala hold hands, preparing to kiss, but Carrelli interrupts them saying that agents are coming.
As the two teenagers leave, Carrelli distracts the agents by dancing, but gets caught. Meanwhile, Bahadir, Zimmer, and Aamir fire softballs at the incoming agents, but get apprehended from behind. As Kamran and Kamala prepare to exit through the window, Kamran asks what happened to his mother, but agents break through. Kamran shoots at them with his hard light, but Kamala blocks the attack as it could kill the agents. Kamran then runs down the hall, followed by Kamala who tells him what happened to his mother. Out of anger, Kamran attacks many of the agents, but Kamala grabs him. He looks at her before running off. Kamran exits the building with many agents ready to fire. Instead of adhering to Deever's wishes to get on his knees, Kamran charges up his hard light fist. As the agents start firing, Kamala rushes in and blocks them with a hard light shield. Deever sets up a more harmful sonic wave attack which sends Kamran and Kamala flying.
Kamala gets up and sees the injured Kamran. She says "embiggen" which makes the hard light form around her legs and hands making her structure very big, with bigger fists and legs. Kamran wakes up and attacks the D.O.D.C. agents. Deever prepares to shoot Kamran, but he sends a vehicle at her. The vehicle misses and flies towards the bystanders. Kamala catches it before it hits the innocents. Kamran can't hold his power much longer and sets off a wave of hard light energy. Kamala pushes through the energy and puts them both in a hard light sphere before it wounds anyone. Kamran reasons with Kamala, saying nobody will accept them. Kamala tells him that Najma saved their world to protect him. Kamran says that he can't be normal after everything he's done. However, Kamala says that there is no normal, just them and what they are given. She then tells him to get to the harbor as she buys him time. Kamran leaves as Kamala breaks the sphere. The people of the city then make a barricade in front of the D.O.D.C. agents as Kamala leaves so that they can't get her. Deever then gets a call from an angry Cleary who tells her to leave as soon as possible so that they could fix her mess.
In the following days, TikTok reacts to Night Light's heroic actions. Kamala watches as she stares into her mirror at her new costume. She gets onto her roof where Yusuf finds her. He asks what her superhero name is going to be, but she admittedly doesn't know. Her father gives her a speech that she saved one life and in turn, she saved the world. Yusuf tells her that "Kamal" means "Marvel". Kamala is astonished that she shares a name with her hero, Captain Marvel, before Yusuf tells her she was always his little, "Ms. Marvel". Meanwhile, Kamran meets with Kareem in Pakistan. Kamala sits on a light post staring out into the city.
One week later, Carrelli and Bahadir ride in Kamran's car that he had left. They meet with Kamala and Carrelli says he looked back at her genetics again and it was wrong. There is something different, like a mutation. She tells him it's just another label. They then drive off. Later, Kamala lays in her bed, but her bangle acts up and she is then sent flying through her door. When she gets out, it isn't Kamala, but Carol Danvers, who had teleported to Kamala's bedroom.

- The title of this episode is named after the first volume of the Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel series, titled "No Normal".
- When Bruno Carrelli first tells Kamala that she has a mutation, a brief rendition of X-Men: The Animated Series' theme song, originally composed by Ron Wasserman, can be heard. This is the second time the theme has been used to represent mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the first being Professor X's introduction in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This episode also marks the first confirmation that mutants exist in the prime timeline of the MCU.
- Originally, this episode depicted the Statue of Liberty with its real-life green appearance. In January 2023, the episode was edited to depict the statue with its updated copper appearance as seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
