Merry Christmas everybody! Two black and white films in a row, this is strange for me, but there is something special about films like these since 1946's It's a Wonderful Life is a incredibly vibrant film.

An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed.

James Stewart is great as the down on his luck everyman, and how his character grows throughout the years. You really root for him since he is a stand up guy, and Stewart is great when his character realizes how good life is towards the end.

Frank Capra really hits home with his direction, it feels like this was made yesterday, and not in the 1940s. The film becomes really special when the angel is sent down from heaven, and it really touched me since those scenes really show how wonderful life is.

It does feel sappy and things could have been tightened up a little. Overall 1946's It's a Wonderful Life is one of the all time great Christmas classics, there is a certain warmness to it and really puts you in a positive place once you see the film's ending, a good one to watch with all the family.
