The Geuse is loose and Tim Burton is back!
While not as captivating as the original, it still manages to have the eerie charm that Tim Burton is so well known for.
Amazing cast and set of cameos all around, but of course, Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton are the true stars. Loved seeing Danny DeVito and Willem Defoe, they are easily my favorite characters.
Now as much as this movie was great, I was not a big fan of the Jenna Ortega story line. I could tell where it was going pretty much immediately and when it did happen, not only was I not surprised, I wasn’t even really that impressed with the results (except for the later fucker part). I really wanted to give the movie 3.5 stars for that but…
THE BLACK AND WHITE GIALLO SCENE?!
Now THAT is my favorite part for so many reasons: Beetlegeuse’s background, the stylistic choices, the parodying of the genre, and most importantly, the Italian voiceover!
And that’s enough to earn an extra half star
