I’ve been wanting to watch this film for a while, and I’m really glad I did! It’s a fun watch. I don’t feel like it dragged one bit. I just don’t get that feeling like I did in the first film. In other words, I just don’t think it’s as good as the first film. Some of the new characters introduced were great, especially Delores, played by Monica Bellucci. However, it felt like the whole film was set up as such a high build up for her just to get killed off so quickly by the sand worm. Her character really was a tragedy lol. The star of the film that just never misses is Michael Keaton. It was so fun to see him thrive as Beetlejuice again and have more screen time. The effects were really great. It still has that Tim Burton style that I love. Catherine O’Hara was amazing. I loved her performance so much. It truly felt like she came straight out of the first film and nothing had changed. Jenna Ortega as Astrid was a character I was rooting for from the beginning. The scenes when she finds her father in the afterlife made me emotional. Overall, great performances. If Tim Burton ever wanted to make another film, I can totally see that happening by the way it ended. I don’t think it’s really needed but it would be fun to watch.
