Nosferatu 2024
Eggers has yet to miss; another astonishing period piece, meticulously put together with more best in class cinematography from Jarin Blaschke. Admittedly, it is a little slow in the first half, and has some pacing issues, but the second really escalates into an amalgam of cold, animalistic debauchery and bleak, sprawling death, propelled by a fine rendition from Lily-Rose Depp, which will surely go down as another superb, leading female, horror performance. Can't wait for the extended cut.

Watership Down 1978
One of the best and most harrowing animated films ever made. Beautiful watercolour-like backdrops, littered with visually striking and creative sequences throughout, accompanied by a gripping story that doesn't hold back at any point and fully respects its audience.

Eyes Wide Shut 1999
A bit of a disappointment, was a lot tamer than I thought it would be and the story was just not that engaging to me, I was just waiting for something more profound or striking to happen, and it just did not materialise. Comfortably the least visually interesting Kubrick film too, quite dull for his standards. I will say though that despite not really being a Tom Cruise kinda guy, I did actually enjoy his performance, excellent and intense.

Paris, Texas 1984
I had put off watching this for a while, and now completely regret taking so long, this really is a transcendent piece of filmmaking that's right up there in execution and heart with the best films ever made. Eager to check out more of Wenders' work. A must watch.
