A romcom with a Groundhog day twist. The leads have great chemistry and I'm swooning over Cristin Milioti as of late. The film hits most of the typical genre plot points but it stays fresh due to the time capsule shit. A little too sappy for my tastes but works well as a comfort movie.

Better than The Northman, worse than the first two Eggers films. The shadowplay is faithful to Murnau's and there are some gorgeous shots yet I'm still left wondering why this had to be made in the first place. I would really like Eggers to get back to original scripts instead of regurgitating old known tales like Hamlet and Nosferatu.
Anyway, performances were mostly from good to great, pacing was brisk (don't get the criticisms of it being slow at all),…

For some reason I absolutely loved this. I'm dreading to rewatch it though, I bought the BD and it just sits there, judging me for not unwrapping it. Maybe I won't, how do you like that?

The last dying breath of the proper historical epic, after this everything went to shit. Luckily we got one of the most authentic & rewatchable adventure films of all time before it did. This makes me feel like a kid again.
