In my not so humble opinion Director Turi Meyer couldn't direct a turd down a toilet!
Pure Shite!
The psychological tête-à-tête and the racial themes are present once again, but it largely functions as a standard slasher sequel, which means it's fun in bursts but rarely rises above its direct-to-video ambitions (even though that term isn't totally applicable; among other odd release decisions, it premiered on TV in the States and got a theatrical release in France—what was going on here?). Tony Todd is beyond reproach, everyone else seems to know the words but not the music.
I couldn’t even tell you what made me decide to watch this of all movies tonight, but I did. I’m pretty sure the only other time I watched this one was on late night cable back when it came out.
It’s pretty awful. It has none of the style or atmosphere that make the first two enjoyable (yes, I enjoy part 2). The idea that this super white girl is just running around the Mexican community of Los Angeles without ever really running into any problems is hysterical, but not as hysterical as watching Candyman float down a subway tunnel in an insanely ill-advised special effect.
I noticed that almost every review I read said how awful Donna D’errico is…
Should be illegal to make a movie about a bee covered, hook handed killer this boring
This is "Candyman" in name only. Thankfully the series stopped here because this film is completely forgettable. The story is nothing more than a retread of a retread with dull, grating characters and Tony Todd who looks as though he's sleepwalking through this. The first "Candyman" film is a horror masterpiece, this film is a terrible straight to DVD cash in.

While as not as bad as some have hyped this to be, Day of the Dead is still an deeply lacklustre piece of filmmaking and a cheapening of the original masterpiece. I shan’t go into my expected spiel about what people don’t understand about Candyman, mostly because it’s profoundly boring and I think most people grasp Candyman as a figure very well, even if my association of the original figure and disability is certainly an outlier reading. Instead, the problems are more…
Tony Todd is definitely looking to get some candy in this one. Was a great video store pick-up when you couldn't decide between a softcore thriller or a cheap horror sequel, because it's a bit of both. If you're one of those guys who'd rather fuck a Penny than a Hope, we've also got screen time from heavenly Rena Riffel. Thankfully, she never turned down the chance to disrobe. This also features Wade Williams in what would likely have served as his audition reel for playing the slimy security guard in Prison Break. And doll-faced Donna D’Errico is the bees knees.
This franchise really goes all in on the repetitive family descendant storyline, huh? With a 1.7 Letterboxd rating, I expected the absolute worst. Truthfully, those expectations helped because I didn’t hate this. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll probably forget this entire movie in a couple days, but it didn’t bore me. It’s just wholly unnecessary. Candyman works as a standalone film. We don’t need to explore his history in depth, especially when the sequels make a muck of it. Day of the Dead wants to be a slasher first and a Candyman continuation second. The script is filled with cliche after cliche, and I don’t think the writers really cared about telling the audience anything compelling. Lazy stuff here. It’ll be awhile before I ever rewatch due to Donna D’Errico’s horrible screams every 10 minutes.
Was that a parody? Because it sure fucking felt like it.
I mean who’s fucking idea was this?!? Seriously was the person who came up with this having a stroke while doing so?!?
This movie is a SUCH A HUGE MESS from the very very start all the way to the end. Oh boy i couldn’t wait for those fucking credits.
Also we already saw how Daniel died in the flashback of the second the just completely changed it in this one for what fucking reason?
1/10
