For a multitude of reasons, I picked this for my office Oscar pool. One being it seems like it’s showing up on a lot of those cringe secret ballots that have popped up. And another being that Hollywood loves movies about Hollywood. Add a prestige director into the mix, and a surefire Best Supporting Winner and you’ve got yourself a contender as far as I’m concerned. This movie is magical, triumphant, joyful, and a little gay. I love it for all of those reasons.
