I DID IT, I FINALLY SAW MY FAVORITE FILM ON THE BIG SCREEN.
i think every movie-lover has had that one watch where things just clicked. that this film shit might be more than just a fun pastime, it really may be for me.
well, in my case, that's what la la land was, and i knew it right away too.
which is exactly why it's always pained me to say that i arrived to it late, years after releasing, and therefore missed out on the chance to see it in theaters. i thought i could have to live my whole life without ever getting it either, but thanks to the alamo drafthouse, THAT'S NOT THE CASE ANYMORE.
from the immediately immersive opening that is another day of sun, to the spirit of someone in the crowd... city of stars to the otherworldly planetarium scene... mia's all-powerful audition, to an unforgettable and everlasting epilogue...
i was sat there, tears in my eyes, knowing that it simply does not get better than this.
