Kaname Shirakawa (白 (しら) 川 (かわ) 要 (かなめ) , Shirakawa Kaname^?) is a recurring supporting character in Juujika no Rokunin. She is the classmate of Uruma Shun at Meiseki High, along with Azuma Chizuru and her older twin brother, Shirakawa Jun. Despite nearly starring in Romeo and Juliet along her classmates, the hell that Madoka put her through would severely traumatize her. In addition to that, because she didn't tell Jun who her attacker was, she unintentionally caused him to betray Uruma as a form of vengeance. She serves as the posthumous overarching protagonist of the Jun arc.

Appearance

Kaname Shirakawa is a high-school girl of average height and a small petite build. She has blonde/white hair that goes down to her shoulders. During the events of Kyou's twisted game of rock paper scissors, Kaname lost her right arm and left leg after being mutilated by Momoki.

Personality

Kaname is a very kind, yet shy girl. She has strong feelings for Shun since the time when she was bullied by Kyou's group when she was a child, although they stopped tormenting her in favor of bullying Shun, causing her to feel strongly indebted to him.

She is terribly traumatized after being asualted by Hiro, isolating herself from everyone and hiding what happened even from her brother. The only one who knows what happened is Shun, who ended up avenging her. This allowed her to slowly return to some semblance of a normal life.

Some time later, Kaname bumps into Uruma after the latter murdered Kuga. At first, she seems to have normally recovered from the trauma Hiro put her through, as shown when she happily took Uruma with her to an amusement park to spend time together. However, it is later revealed that she is still traumatized by the pain Hiro had put her through, and because of this, she requests Uruma to "overwrite" those memories by having sex with her, to which the latter complies (though he regrets this later as he thinks that he is just as bad as his bullies for doing so)

Trivia

• In Chapter 141, it is initially believed that she had survived the attack as she appeared at Juujika's clinic. However, in Chapter 142, it is revealed that she is a lookalike named Kaname Matsushima who bears a striking resemblance to her. Uruma later encounters Jun who reveals that Kaname did in fact die on that day.
• Like Uruma, she was initially bullied by the five until they changed their target to Uruma for reasons unknown.
• Kaname, along with Uruma and Jun, are the only characters to feature on a volume cover twice.
