Chizuru Azuma (東 (あずま) 千 (ち) 鶴 (ずる) , Azuma Chizuru^?) is a second year college student. She is a recurring character in the Juujika no Rokunin manga series.

Appearance

Azuma is a young high school girl with short black hair and a well proportioned figure. She is described as many to be well proportioned.

Five years later, she had grown slightly taller and her hair now reaches her shoulders.

Personality

Azuma is a very timid girl. She is shown romantic feelings for Uruma, although she does not know of Uruma's true nature and goal.

It is shown that due to her feelings for Uruma, she can display strong feelings of jealousy towards those who she thinks Uruma could consider a romantic interest. This is shown when she shows her development of jealousy towards Kaname when she and Uruma were elected as the two main characters of an upcoming Romeo and Juliet play, even showing anger when she saw Uruma and Kaname speaking.

Story

Azuma is a normal high-schooler who became involved in Uruma's life after he saved her from a psychotic rapist. This later results in her developing love emotions for Uruma.

At some point during the post-timeskip, Azuma finally reunites with Uruma, who happened to lose his memories at the time. However, with her help in retrieving those memories, Uruma not only remembers who Azuma is, but at the same time, he regains every memory he had prior to his memory loss (which was caused by Shirakawa Jun, their former friend).

Later on, Azuma meets Jun Shirakawa during the post-timeskip, as the two decided to have a drink at a cafe or restaurant. However, Jun has his men drug Azuma to the point of losing consciousness, just so he could torture her in front of Uruma to spite him.

At the revolutionary club base on Mt. Notomi, Jun has performed one of the most horrific acts in front of Uruma: raping Azuma Chizuru in front of him, JUST to spite him as payback for raping Kaname (which Uruma never did as Madoka was the one who did so). Furthermore, he has his Kaname doppelgangers mutilate Azuma just to make Uruma suffer even more before having her beheaded.

However, it was revealed that the Azuma Jun tortured was a fake one. While Jun’s horror theater play is happening, the real Azuma in in another room watching the ordeal. As Jun enters her room, she tries to talk sense into him, only for her to fail.

Trivia

• Out of all the major female supporting characters in Part I, Azuma is the only one to have survived.
• Despite being one of the major characters since the beginning of the story and outlasted many characters in the manga, Azuma is the only one who has yet to be featured in a volume cover.
• It was initially thought that she was killed. However, chapter 153 revealed that she was alive to begin with, confirming that the one Jun tortured was merely a doppelgänger.
