“This is business - a partnership - equals. I keep the law off your back - the feds, Rico - and you keep me in the shit that I like.”
Toni Cipriani:
“Well how do I know I ain't about to be shaken down by every dirty cop from here to Vice City?”
Leon McAffrey:
“I'm gonna help you take over this town. In return I want some cash and a few favors. Now c'mon, Toni, take a drive with me... we're gonna meet your old friends, the Sindaccos.”
Toni, on the instructions of Salvatore Leone, goes to meet an associate of his. The associate is corrupt LCPD police officer Leon McAffrey. After a heated discussion, the two decide to work together and drive off to Torrington to meet some Sindacco members. Leon supplies Toni with an M4 rifle and, with Toni out of his car, drives off, telling Toni to 'adapt and survive'. Toni kills a number of Sindacco Family gang members, after which McAffrey returns and the two drive off, with the Sindaccos in motorcycles, pickup trucks and a helicopter, in hot pursuit. Toni then uses the rifle with unlimited ammo to fend them off, before McAffrey decides it's becoming too high profile. He drives off, leaving Toni at the Staunton Lift Bridge.
Got all kinds of important people very pissed off at you. Leon McAffrey, LCPD.
Toni:
I don't know what you're talking about. I'm in the restaurant business.
McAffrey:
Whatever you say, tough guy. You greaseballs wanna put holes in each other, I don't give a shit. All I care about is my cut.
Toni:
I love a man of principle.
McAffrey:
Well, me too. I go to all their memorial services in fast cars with hot broads. My cut, where is it?!
Toni:
Up your ass, buddy. And don't make me laugh. You keep fucking with me, I'll put you, your friends, your friend's families, your whole fucking home town under the sword!
McAffrey:
Relax. Go get laid or something. This is business - a partnership - equals. I keep the law off your back - the feds, Rico - and you keep me in the shit that I like.
Toni:
Well, how do I know I ain't about to be shaken down by every dirty cop from here to Vice City?
McAffrey:
I'm gonna help you take over this town. In return I want some cash and a few favors. Now c'mon, Toni, take a drive with me... we're gonna meet your old friends, the Sindaccos.
Toni gets into McAffrey's Banshee and drives to the AMCo. Headquarters in Torrington.
McAffrey:
Okay, I'll take the wheel, you start blasting! Adapt and survive, Cipriani. Adapt and survive.
McAffrey drives off, while Toni shoots all of the Sindaccos near the building, then heads back to McAffrey's car and shoots at the Sindaccos from the passenger seat, shooting at pickup trucks, motorcycles and a helicopter, while Leon drives through Bedford Point all the way to the Belleville Park entrance of the Shoreside Lift Bridge.
McAffrey:
Shit, this is getting too high profile. I gotta make myself scarce. See you around, Toni.
McAffrey decides it's becoming too high profile. He drives off, leaving Toni at the Staunton Lift Bridge.

Trivia[]
This mission bears some similarity to the GTA San Andreas mission Reuniting the Families, as both involve a shootout, then escaping the enemies. However, the enemies are different; SAPD in Reuniting the Families and the Sindacco family in this mission.
The title is an obvious nod to the GTA III mission Sayonara Salvatore, as both contain the word "sayonara (さよなら)", which means "goodbye" in Japanese, and both of the missions involve killing people.
The player can replace the given M4 with an AK-47; it will also be used during the drive-by sequence.
