Events of Grand Theft Auto III[]
In 2001, James is a resident of Liberty City. He makes a call to Chatterbox FM, explaining to Lazlow his view that today's children have no respect for authority. However, he claims that the military could teach these kids respect and obedience.
James expresses his frustrations at the fact he didn't receive a hero's welcome after his service in the Australian-American War. According to him, everyone was watching television instead. In response, Lazlow inquires about the conflict, saying he has never heard of it. This angers James, who asks Lazlow if he has read a history book. Nevertheless, James elaborates, "The Australian-American War was the biggest war since the big one!" Also, he explains how the Australians killed ten Americans with explosive kangaroos.
Lazlow largely dismisses James' testimony, as Lazlow abruptly ends the call after saying, "Thanks for the history lesson."
