You're All the World to Me by Fred Astaire is featured in Girls (and Boys) on Film, the fifteenth episode of Season Four. It is sung by Emma and Will.
As the episode opens, the scene leads into the song. Will woos Emma with professional film dialogue as he asks for her hand. The screen turns black and white and the song begins as they are seated and they walk around the room and across the walls without falling off, just like in the original scene in the film. They continue to dance together on the ceiling in a playful way as they sing. At the end of the song, Will kisses Emma on the cheek as he wakes up, indicating it was all a dream. He turns off the TV as the song is playing and he sighs as he misses her.
Lyrics[]
Will:
Everywhere that beauty glows, you are
Everywhere an orchid grows, you are
Everything that's young and gay, brighter than a holiday
Everywhere the angels play, you are
You're like Paris in April and May
You're New York on a silvery day
The Swiss Alps as the sun grows fainter
You're Loch Lomond when autumn is the painter
Emma:
You're moonlight on a night in Capri
Or Cape Cod looking out at the sea
You're all places that leave me breathless
Emma and Will:
And no wonder you're all the world to me
Emma with Will harmonizing:
You're like Paris in April and May
You're New York on a silvery day
Emma and Will:
The Swiss Alps as the sun grows fainter
You're Loch Lomond when autumn is the painter
Will with Emma harmonizing:
You're moonlight on a night in Capri
And Cape Cod looking out at the sea
Emma and Will:
You're all places that leave me breathless
And no wonder you're all the world to me
