Somewhere from West Side Story is featured in I Am Unicorn, the second episode of Season Three. It is sung by Rachel and Shelby.
At the beginning of the song, the directors of the school production aren't there when Rachel starts singing, but Shelby is. At the end of the performance, Shelby disappears as the directors, Coach Beiste, Emma, and Artie, are sitting down at the table. This suggests the song is sung by Rachel and Shelby during a practice; then, Rachel performs it in her audition for McKinley High's production of West Side Story, with the two versions being merged.
Lyrics[]
Rachel:
There's a place for us,
Somewhere, a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere
Shelby:
There's a time for us,
Someday a time for us
Time together with time to spare
Time to learn
Time to care
Someday
Rachel:
Somewhere,
We'll find a new way of living
Shelby:
Oh, oh, we'll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere
Rachel:
Somewhere
Rachel and Shelby:
There's a place for us,
A time and a place for us
Hold my hand and we're halfway there
Hold... my hand and I'll take... you there
Somehow
Someday
Somewhere...
