Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler is featured in Bad Reputation, the seventeenth episode of Season One. It is sung by Finn, Jesse, Puck, and Rachel.

In this episode, Rachel recreates and sings David Geddes' Run Joey Run, which she tries to use to get a 'bad reputation', using Jesse, Puck, and Finn (making it look like she had three boys fighting over her). However, this backfires as Jesse, Finn, and Puck become extremely angry with her and her project and argue with her before walking out. Rachel uses this song as a way to apologize to Jesse. Rachel, Finn, Puck and Jesse all have solos in this song; however, it mainly focuses on Rachel and Jesse's voices.

This is the second out of the three times Rachel is seen doing ballet (The first time being in a flashback in the Pilot episode, and the third being At the Ballet).
This song marks the first time Puck sings twice in one episode.
There is an unaired version of this song which doesn't include the Ballet part, but shows the rest of the Glee Club vocalizing along with the song instead.
A verse was cut from the original for unknown reasons.
This is the first out of two times a song originally by Bonnie Tyler is featured in the show, the other one being Holding Out for a Hero. There is also an unaired version of Total Eclipse of the Heart that was meant to appear in the Season Five episode New Directions.
