Minsk is one of the rank-and-file Jägermonsters aboard Castle Wulfenbach. He and fellow Jägergrunt Gorb make their debut ✣ when they interrupt a small conversation between Agatha Heterodyne and the restrained (physically, certainly not emotionally) Othar Tryggvassen, Gentleman Adventurer. This encounter looks a bit spooky for Agatha at first, but as soon as she mentions that she's "Agatha Clay," the picture changes, and Minsk escorts her to tea ✣ with General Khrizhan. At this point it's discovered that Agatha "smellz very nize," which turns out to be important -- incredibly important.
Minsk dislikes the Lackya intensely, and doesn't react well when Agatha draws a comparison between the Lackya and Jägers, reasonably enough. The dialogue between Minsk and Gorb reveals one of the great truths of Girl Genius:
- Minsk: "Dot's right. Und any plan vere you lose you hat iz?"
- Gorb: "A bad plan?"
- Minsk: "RIGHT AGAIN!"
He's listed as a Wulfenbach minion with some hesitancy, as it's not clear that Jägermonsters should be considered "Wulfenbach minions" as much as fellow travelers who have their own agendas. We will see whether he qualifies as one after House Heterodyne gets re-established in its ancestral digs.
The Novel[]
In Agatha H. and the Airship City (p. 133), this Jäger is named Stosh.
There is also one named Minsc; this is the one who takes Agatha back to the dorms after her tea with the generals (pp. 141-144); i.e. the one in the comic named André.
