Welcome to the Girl Genius Wiki, a fan-created resource for the fabulous gaslamp fantasy, appearing both in print and as a Hugo-award winning[1] webcomic, produced by Studio Foglio. This wiki has received official acknowledgment from Kaja Foglio herself!
Girl Genius is an epic graphic novel set in an alternate-world, Victorianesque Europe thrillingly overrun with Mad Science, published online for free every M-W-F and then in more traditional for-pay dead-tree format. Any entry here may contain spoilers for the current storyline. So if you somehow arrived here first, head over to the first page and start reading! The guy in the bowler hat is Professor Phil Foglio himself. If you are new to Girl Genius you might want to take a look at this general description of the story and its inspirations. There is a more detailed, but still brief, plot summary available, which does contain spoilers. Also available is an attempt at a comprehensive list of every edition of Girl Genius in print in any form. News[]Sign up for the Studio Foglio newsletter to get news about Phil and Kaja's schedule, Girl Genius, Magic the Gathering, and all things Foglio. The video game, Adventures in Castle Heterodyne will be released for the PlayStation platform on September 5, 2024. It is already out on Steam, GOG, and the Nintendo Switch. Kaja Foglio continues to stream video games as ProfessoressaFoglio and may start streaming her painting. Her streaming sessions take place every Wednesday at 6 pm PDT (or whenever she feels like it) on her channel on Twitch TV. A recent volume in the Bloomsbury Comic Studies series (described as consisting of "accessible, authoritative and comprehensive introductions to key topics in the field.") is Webcomics, which uses Girl Genius as the first of its "key texts". Check the bottom of new pages posted to the Girl Genius website, the Girl Genius FaceBook page, or the Girl Genius Patreon page (behind a paywall) for more up-to-date "Studio News" about the current activities of Studio Foglio. New Releases[]The Girl Genius RPG Kickstarter has finished funding! You can still buy the PDF directly. Kickstarter fulfilment for Sparks and Monsters (volume 6 of Act 2, 19th overall) is nearly complete, and Kaja hopes to have the Backerkit store open soon for anyone who missed the initial campaign. Queens and Pirates (volume 5 of act 2, 18th overall) has been printed and is available in softcover from the TopatoCo online store and in PDF format from DriveThruComics. The Girl Genius Novelization is proceeding. The fourth book is available in hard cover, paperback, electronic, and audiobook formats. |

— The fine print —
- This site is not approved by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Studio Foglio, LLC or Airship Entertainment. This site contains portions of images clipped from the comic. Since they found us and linked to us (eeeee!), we hope this means our use of clipped images is "fair". No copyright infringement is intended. (See Copyrights) Of course, as TPU students, we strive for utmost accuracy and being absolutely, positively non-biased in our research on the early life of Agatha Heterodyne. Especially where the powerful, brilliant, perfectly reasonable, charming, dashingly handsome Baron is concerned. (Did we mention reasonable?) Any inaccuracies or omissions are the fault of our textbooks, we swear.
- If you remember What's New with Phil and Dixie, the guy in the bowler hat may look familiar.
