Killian Jones, better known as Captain Hook, and Detective Rogers following the Dark Curse, is a character featured in the ABC fantasy drama-series, Once Upon a Time.
Hook originates from the Wish Realm, a land brought to life by a genies wish. After completing a quest to capture a magical flower, Hook has a dalliance with a young princess, trapped within a tower. The following morning, he learns that the young princess is in actuality, Mother Gothel, an ancient witch, who used the flowers enchanted properties to accelerate her pregnancy, giving her a means to escape, whilst leaving the babe in her palce. Hook decides to settle a his long-term rivalry with the sorcerer, Rumplestiltskin, in order to be present as a father for his daughter, whilst attempting to find a means to her escape. Gothel later curses his heart, preventing him from having close contact with Alice.
Following the Dark Curse, he is given the identity of Rogers, a police detective, partnered with Weaver, the counterpart to Rumplestiltskin. He investigates the case of Eloise Gardener, a woman who went missing years ago, and his investigation eventually leads him into a cult.
History[]

Wish Realm Hook before his youthful transformation
After Emma Swan's wish of not wanting to be the Savior is granted, an alternative realm is created in which the residents of the Enchanted Forest live in a world where the Dark Curse was never cast and the Evil Queen was defeated. In the Wish Realm, Hook has a daughter, but loses her to a Witch after the Witch imprisons his daughter in a tower. The Witch curses Hook's heart, causing him to be unable to be close to his loved ones without hurting them. Over the years, he grew old with sadness in his life. One day, he ambushes Pinocchio and Emma Swan near an Enchanted Grove where he is on a mission to bring Emma back for a reward from Prince Henry. Before Hook can duel Pinocchio, Emma knocks him out. Years later, he goes to the Magical Forest and makes a deal with Lady Tremaine - youth for himself in-exchange for Henry leaving her realm. However, Hook does not live up to his end of the deal. Instead, he teams up with Henry and Regina to help find Cinderella and his daughter. Dark Curse is cast, he is sent to the Land Without Magic.
In Hyperion Heights, he is known as Rogers, a police officer turned detective, working with Detective Weaver. Victoria Belfrey hires them both to frame Henry out of the neighborhood, but Rogers chooses not to. He teams up with Roni and Henry in order to get back at Victoria. After he is kidnapped by the Coven of the Eight, his memories from before the curse are finally restored and he remembers Tilly as Alice and witnesses her turn Gothel into a tree before creating flowers around it, and is later taken to the hospital.
Trivia[]
- Unlike his Enchanted Forest counterpart, this Killian does not end up with a variant of Emma Swan, but with a variant of Rapunzel and is a biological father rather than a step-father.
- However, Killian did try to find a variant of Emma but was unsuccessful.
- It is never revealed if this counterpart has a brother named Liam, but since this Killian came from a wish realm, it seems unlikely.
- According to "A Pirate's Life", this Hook comes from a world where Regina Mills never cast the first dark curse.
- Colin O'Donoghue played wish realm Hook in the seventh season, because Jennifer Morrison left the series after the sixth season and the writers didn't think it was fair to the audience to separate Emma and Hook. Wish realm Hook is also different to his Enchanted Forest counterpart as it was believed that the Enchanted Forest character had changed too much to go back to his old ways as a villain. [1][2]
