2024年12月15日、カタール国立図書館に国際図書館連盟（IFLA）の中東・北アフリカ地域事務所が開設されるのに際して、同館とIFLAの間で調印式が行われました。

カタール国立図書館によると、同地域におけるIFLAの地域事務所の開設は初めてのことであり、図書館サービスの促進と強化に向けた重要な一歩であるとしています。
