L'Empire des Lumières (The Empire of Light) ☁️ What is represented in a picture is what is visible to the eye, it is the thing or the things that had to be thought of. Thus, what is represented in the picture are the things I thought of, to be precise, a nocturnal landscape and a skyscape such as can be seen in broad daylight. The landscape suggests night and the skyscape day. This evocation of night and day seems to me to have the power to surprise and delight us. I call this power: poetry An Artwork by René Magritte www.renemagritte.org lightnightcontrastsurrealismdayskypoetrydarkness
Impossible and chimerical love ☁️ I hate my past and that of others. I hate resignation, patience, professional heroism and all the obligatory nice feelings. I also hate decorative arts, folklore, advertising, the voices of announcers, aerodynamics, boy scouts, the smell of naphtha, the news and drunk people. I like subversive humor, freckles, knees, women's long hair, the dream of young children in freedom, a young girl running in the street.I wish for living, impossible and chimerical love.I dread knowing exactly my limits. She lifts her eyes ☁️ I have this woman's heart. She lifts her eyes, they change color. I succeeded, this change is the first sign. She leads me, I breathe in a burning perfume. She feels no pain discomfort from having her heart in my hand. On the contrary, her movements become more confident. The gesture to conquer her, I thought it might lose me and was only possible after several attempts. It is without hesitation that I went to this woman. She lived in my surroundings, often seen but never noticed. Her presence was a challenge that I suddenly discovered. We go to the heart of the countryside, they are covered in daylight. Everything transforms in front of us. Nothing sensitive can resist us anymore. Together, our power helps us to invent a surprising venture. A Letter by René Magritte lovecoloradventure
