Posted by Nick Sieger Wed, 23 May 2007 05:51:36 GMT I was fortunate to be in town right after RailsConf and attended the inaugural geekSessions event on Rails scalibility. The event went off without a hitch: it was well attended, City Club is a classy place, and there was decent food and an open bar. When a model is marked with acts_as_readonlyable, some of AR finders are overridden to run against a slave DB. The supported finders are find, find_by_sql, count_by_sql, find_[all_]by_*, and reload. Finders can be forced to fall back to a default DB by passing the :readonly flag set to false.

Twitter, Rails, Hammers, and 11,000 Nails per Second Thereâs an interesting kerfluffle going on regarding the scaling woes that Twitter.com is going through, especially since itâs built on Ruby On Rails. Hereâs the original interview with one of the Twitter coders, the somewhat evasive reply by the lead Rails architect, and Mark Pilgrimâs cruel-but-funny dissection of the latter. Ruby is a lovely
edit On Twitter, Rails, and Community Posted by kev Sun, 15 Apr 2007 20:13:00 GMT An interview by a twitter developer has gotten a good deal of press lately. For many, it has reawakened the giant that is the âdoes Rails scaleâ debate, and others feel compelled to defend the framework. The problem with Rails isnât that Ruby is slow. Itâs also not that Rails is slow, or big, or bloated, or doesnât s
