Player of the year: Jaxon Potter, Austin, Sr.: The Murray State signee wrapped up his Austin career with a phenomenal senior season, finishing with 57 catches for 1,041 yards and 16 touchdowns.
WEST POINTÂ â The Danville boys picked up a big win Thursday in the first round of the West Point Christmas tournament, taking down Colbert County 55-50.
Player of the Year: Lydia Carter, Lindsay Lane, Sr.: Carter had a dominant season as she finished the year with 748 kills and 604 digs as well as 90 aces.
HARTSELLEÂ â Gray Bennich and Ty Odom combined to score 34 points and the Hartselle boys basketball team rolled past rival Decatur 67-51 on Friday.
HARTSELLEÂ â Ty Odom finished with 27 points and the Hartselle boys basketball team opened Class 6A, Area 15 play with a 61-49 win over Athens on Tuesday.
Brady Wilson finished with 25 points and the Decatur Heritage boys basketball team beat Mortimer Jordan 58-54 on Tuesday.
SOMERVILLEÂ â Brewer's boys defeated Danville 58-30 on Thursday to improve to 3-1 on the season.
DANVILLEÂ â Addison Prater had 12 points and eight rebounds as Danville picked up a 53-19 win over Covenant Christian in girls high school basketball on Friday.
OAKVILLE â Only two points separated the Lawrence County girls from their fifth consecutive title at the state cross-country race in Oakville on Saturday.
FALKVILLEÂ â Eli Harris returned a Lexington punt 81 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to propel Falkville to a 16-6 win over the visiting Golden Bears in the opening round of the Class 2A state playoffs on Friday.

Ross Letson, Decatur Heritage: Letson, an eighth-grader, tossed four touchdown passes in Decatur Heritage's 49-24 win over Ragland on Friday.
