Special Prayer Meeting for victims of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami

Tibet House Japan is organizing a special prayer gathering at Gokokuji Temple in Tokyo. This prayer is for the victims of the recent natural disaster in North-Eastern Japan and to console the relatives of those victims. We hope to encourage people, to lift their spirits and to show them solidarity so that the nation is not thrown into depression.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama recently said that as a monk used to reciting the Heart Sutra prayer everyday, he recommends Japanese Buddhist to recite this Sutra at this difficult time. Recitation of Heart Sutra will not only help the victims but also ease the pain of every living thing.
In Dharamsala, the Heart Sutra was recited hundred thousand times. Keeping this in view, we would like to initiate the recitation of the Sutra in Japan.

Japanese and Tibetan monks, and the general public will participate in the prayer gathering. Below is the detail information of the schedule. We're looking forward to seeing you all there.
