i have one major complaint about this movie. when i think of VHS i think it shaky and grainy camera work. this movie seemed WAYYYYYYYY to polished for a found footage movie lol. these ppl walkin around with full HD cameras just ruins it for me. i want it to look grainy and be shaky like the original movies.
1st one / stork:
i enjoyed it but i felt the acting seemed a little to forced and the dialogue was so fuckin cheesy but everything else was so cool. the gore and the zoom in to the inside of that dudes head was crazy lol
2nd one / dream girl:
ngl i fast forwarded through that girls whole music video thing. i don’t want to see a full produced music video in the middle of a VHS movie LOL. i did not care but everything else was incredible. the ppls acting in this one was sooooo much better. if they cut the beginning shit and did something different this would’ve been one of my favs
3rd one / live and let dive:
right off the bat the dialogue (again) was cheesy but besides that this one was insane. they killed it with this one. once they fell out the plane it just kept getting better
4th one / fur babies:
yooooooo i didn’t know where they were going with this one. once i saw it was made by justin long i knew exactly where this was going immediately 😭 this is was vhs were made for. he fuckin nailed it omg please bring him back to do another installment for vhs. and the acting was pretty good in this one, thank god. just great from start to finish 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

of course the one by mike flanagan is the best one lol
this one could’ve been its own found footage movie. this is what i want in my FF movies. the acting was top notch, the camera work was incredible and the special effects??????? it was crazy omg. they nailed this one. great way to end it
6th one / abduction/adduction:
i did not care about this one a single bit. they kept going back to it in between each story and i barely payed attention lol
this movie wasn’t even on my list of horror movies to watch for the year. i was surprised by this one!!
2 small complaints first: 1) some of the dialogue was a lil cheesy for me but that’s forgiven because everything else was amazing and 2) i didn’t like the ending but i did like it at the same time 😭 i just don’t like the cut off. i wanted it to keep going
I LOVVVVVED THIS MOVIE!!! incredible acting from everyone, the story was so intriguing it kept me hooked the whole time and the colors / atmosphere was beautiful!! it gave me bodies bodies bodies vibes (which is one of my favorite movies) and i loved that.
i definitely recommend watching it and i know i’ll rewatch in the future

the deaths weren’t even creative, it felt so rushed, it seems like they’re reusing a lot of tropes they used in previous movies.
i saw this in theaters and the only thing i remember is the pool death scene. (and can we talk about him dying in the pool and not a single person cared??? they just went on like nothing happened 😭)
