Verbs are the words in a sentence
that indicate an action word or a state
of being. A sentence is composed of
a subject and a predicate.
In this lesson, we will focus
in using common action
words we use in retelling,
conversation, poems, etc.
Read the poem.
E. Bessy dances.
F. Liza plays.
A. Noel eats nutritious food.
E. Bessy dances.
F. Liza plays.
Some words describe the things that
we do. We call these words as
verbs. A verb is an action word. It
tells what boys and girls do.
A verb or action word is a very
important part of a sentence. It
describes the doer’s actions or state
of being. We use these words to
communicate about the different
events in our lives.
Do you like playing? What are the
things that you do? Let’s see if you
have the same activities just like the
children in the story below.
Read and retell the story.
