LEARNING PLAN IN SCIENCE 2

CONTENT STANDARD:
 The learners demonstrate understanding that light, heat, and sound
come from different sources
PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
 The learners shall be able to demonstrate proper use of device
equipment that produce light, heat, sound and electricity in daily
activities.
VALUE STANDARD: The students will demonstrate the care for the source of light
energy
The learners should be able to:
1. Differentiate the two types of sources of light.
2. Classify various sources of lights.
3. Show evidence that light travels in a straight path and
outward in all directions

 Greetings “Good morning, Teacher Nyca!”

“Good morning class! I am
Teacher Nyca and I will be your
teacher for today.”

“Okay, very good!”

B. MOTIVATION:
EXPERIENTIAL
ACTIVITY

Has anyone of you seen the sun?

When does the sun shows? Is it in
daytime or night time? Yes
How can you describe the sun? In daytime
Are you able to see things in your
surrounding without the sun? Why
not? Sun gives us light
What does the sun produce to see No, without sun we cannot survive
the surroundings? in Earth.

A light
Has anyone of you experienced
brownout?
Yes
Are you able to see things when
it’s brownout? Why no?
No, because there is no light.
What do you use during brownout?

A flashlight/ a candlelight/ a lamp

Why do you think we needed those
things when its brownout? It will allow us to see things

Learning Targets:

 I can compare the natural

sources and artificial
sources of light.
 I can classify the natural
sources and artificial
sources
 I can tell how light travels
C. LESSON
PROPER/DISCUSSION

Light helps you to see and identify

things around you.

Sun, lamp, lighted bulb, flashlight,

What are those things again that and a candle
we mentioned that produces light?

Base from those you mentioned. lamp, lighted bulb, flashlight, and
What do you think are the sources a candle
that are made by man?

How about the sources that is Sun

made by God?

Look at the picture. Classify the

natural sources of light and the
artificial sources of light.
Natural Sources
of Light:

2
Artificial Sources of Light:

Does the lightbulb produce light Sun is a natural light which has no
the same as the sun? limitation unlike the lightbulb. Also,
sun has the brightest light unlike the
man-made lights.

If someone of the class will answer no. The teacher must explain.
If yes, the student must support his/her answer.

SCIENTIFIC OBSERVATION
ACTIVITY:

Okay, so I will switch off the light Answers may vary

first and I want you to imagine that it
is brownout. Since, I have here a
flashlight with me, observe how does
the light travel. To what direction
does the light go?

Is it outward or inward? It is outward

When we say outward, it is away
from the source toward the outside.
While the inward direction, it is
towards inside. It is straight because the beam of the
light is obviously directed to where it
is landed
So what do you think, it is outward or
inward?

Is it straight or not? How do you

know?

Very good. Also, it is straight because

the moment we put some object that
is not transparent in front of our eyes,
we are unable to see anything on the
other side of it even though the
objects on other side might be
reflecting light.

3
Natural light comes from sources that
are naturally occurring such as the
light from the sun, moon, and stars.
Artificial light is produced by man-

D. APPLICATION

How do natural and artificial Light is an important role in our daily

sources help you in your daily living. It allows us to see things.
activities? Light is anything that makes light,
whether natural and artificial. Natural
light sources include the Sun and
stars. Artificial light sources include
lamp posts and televisions. Without
light sources we could not see the
world around us, however not every
object we can see is a light source.
E. SYNTHESIS Once light has been produced, it will
keep travelling in a straight line until
What is the important role natural it hits something else. Shadows are
light? How about artificial lights? evidence of light travelling in straight
lines. An object blocks light so that it
can't reach the surface where we see
the shadow.

EVALUATION:

A. Underline the correct word inside the parenthesis to complete the sentence.

LIGHT
The (sun, moon) is the main source of light on Earth during daytime. It is an (artificial,
natural) source of light. The light bulb is a (natural, artificial) source of light. Artificial
sources of light are those that are made by (God, Man). Light travels in a (straight,
curved) lines from a (source, place) of light that bounces off an object. We can see object
because the (darkness, light) enters our eyes.

B. Give 2 artificial source of light and 2 natural source of light by choosing in the
box.
Lamp Sun
Fireflies Flashlight

Artificial source of light:

1. ______________
2. ______________

Natural source of light:

1. ______________
2. ______________
