Enhanced Thunderstorm Bulletin Dated 30-04-2021

Enhanced thunderstorm activity over West Bengal during 02-06 May 2021
Kolkata, Dated 30.04.2021
Time: 1600 hours IST

Due to presence of Cyclonic Circulation over Madhya Pradesh and a trough from the circulation to
central part of West Bengal and movement of Circulation towards West Bengal during 2-6 May along
with strong moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal, enhanced thunderstorm activity is likely to occur
over the districts of West Bengal during 02-06 May 2021.

WEATHER FORECAST
Fairly widespread rainfall/thunderstorm activity is very likely to occur over the districts of West Bengal
during 02-06 May 2021.
WARNINGS
1. Thunderstorm with lightning and moderate rainfall along with gusty wind speed 50-60 kmph is
very likely to occur over the district of West Bengal during 02-06 May 2021.
2. Heavy rainfall (7-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Cooch Bihar, Alipurduar,
Jalpaiguri, Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum and North 24 Paraganas during 3-5 May 2021
3. Day temperature is likely to fall from 2nd May 2021 and remain below normal during this period

ADVICES

1. Peoples are advised to take shelter in concrete house and not to move outside during
thunderstorm/lightning activity.
2. DO NOT take shelter under trees and particularly under isolated tree.
3. Farmers are advised not to work in open field during lightning and thunderstorm activity.
