In this connection, San Isidro Integrated National High School deemed this as a necessary
step to ensure that teachers will be able to learn the different learning delivery modalities
(LDMs) that the school may implement, as also proposed by DepEd’s Basic Education Learning
Continuity Plan.
The orientation was then divided into four sessions. Session 1, which covers the Course
Overview, was discussed by one of the LAC leaders (Group LAC 9-001), Ms. Melba O. Mistas.
According to her, course 1 includes learning delivery modalities. Meanwhile, course 2 includes
topics on learners’ welfare and well-being, while course 3 includes topics on provision of
psychosocial support and training on wellness. She also elaborated the LCP Courses for school
and division leaders.
Also, under this Course overview, Ms. Mistas provided the following topics to the
participants: the LDM delivery design, its implementation mechanism, the LCP capacity
building framework for teachers and school leaders, output evaluation, the course management
implementation procedure, the indicative implementation schedule and time allotment, suggested
Afterwards, Ms. Mellanie R. Corachea, another LAC Leader (Group LAC 9-002) took
over the discussion of the Session 2 which is all about the technical assistance and coaching in
LDM-2, wherein she gave information on how Technical assistance, coaching and LAC will
provide support in the learning as the teachers go through the LDM2 course.
In session 3, Ms. Cecille T. Manalo, the LAC Leader of Group LAC 9-003, discussed its
coverage which is all about the walkthrough of the LDM 2 modules for teachers. The session
gave a brief discussion on the module objective, content, duration, activities and the expected
outputs. Session 3 also covers an overview of the Most Essential Learning Competencies, its
background and development, designing instruction in different learning delivery modalities, the
Learning Resources, and building the teaching portfolio related to the implementation of the
modalities. Ms. Manalo also showed the expected outputs that the teachers must submit in each
module/session.
Lastly, Session 4 was presented wherein the participants were asked to give three words
that would summarize what they have learned from the orientation session. Many were able to
give their “take aways” from the sessions presented, but most importantly, many were expecting
for a positive outcome. The participants believed that the sessions to be given to them in the next
days will be greatly beneficial to them in delivering learning to students to ensure that learning
continues even in this time of crisis.
