DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION 2
DepEd is One with the President on the Safety of our Children

The Department of Education (DepEd) is one with the

President in his non-negotiable commitment for the health
and safety of our learners, teachers and staff.

It is the first and most important principle of our Basic

Education-Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) which details
learning opportunities in the time of COVID-19.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION 3
No Face-to-Face Until Safe

We can still provide learning opportunities to our

students, without requiring them to come to school,
through blended and distance learning.

The blended/distance learning approach will be

consistent with the President’s preference that we do not
send our children to school until it is safe to do so.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION 4
Blended/Distance Learning Modalities
Lessons will be delivered to the students in the comfort
and safety of their homes, through the following methods:

1. Printed or digital modules delivered to the homes of

the students, or picked up by their parents at
designated places, within coordinated schedules;
2. Online learning resources such as the DepEd
Commons; and,
3. Television or radio-based instruction.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION 5
Printed modules
• Printed modules refer to competency-specific materials that cover the key elements of a
lesson, from motivation, instruction, to assessment.
• Printed modules are prepared for learners who have limited access or have absolutely no
access to internet and digital devices.

duty of delivering quality basic education, and this can be done
in a manner consistent with the President’s directive.
• DepEd seeks the President’s authorization to proceed with the
school year beginning August 24, 2020, THROUGH
BLENDED/DISTANCE LEARNING MODALITY ONLY until
physical attendance in school is determined to be safe.
• Enrollment will be voluntary, and we will respect the decision of
parents if, despite being offered blended/distance learning,
