students questions from the previous class, which will include general
information about the poverty.
- Through that teacher can see as well what students remember, and know
about poverty subject.
- Question one : What is poverty
- Question two: How many people around the world is still living in extreme
poverty?

Before students will start their work in the groups the teacher will show them the
2 min video, so they will see how poverty looks like around the world, so they can relate
more to the topic.
After watching the video, the teacher will began work in the groups.
The class will be divided into small groups (3-4 people in each group).
- Teacher will make their own groups and put their names on the board, so when
5-6 students will enter the class they will know in which group they are working
min. today. Each group will be sitting in a different table, so the students will fill
comfortable to communicate with each other.
- Each group will get a paper and a pencil.

min. Each group will discuss one of the biggest problem that world is struggle with,
which is poverty, and try to find solution to solve the problem.
- Teacher will given each group the same problem to work with.
1 min. One student from each group, or the whole group will present a group solution in
front of the class.
- All groups will have 1-2 min. for presentation.
- Students will write on the board their answers, and will compare their answers.

Closing the Lesson
- Let the students think about it for a minute - what does t mean?
- Ask one volunteer to share their thoughts.
2 min. After when they are done:
- For the next class they have to write a short reflection about the poverty and why
it matter?
- The reflection will be from 200- 400 words, and is due for the next class.
- Ask students to read about one of the goals United Nations put on their website to
fighting with poverty, which may help them to do their assignments.
On the next class we are going to continue talk about the United Nations.
However, that time we are going to focus on another problem which is Human
Rights.
