Privileged a Mo Manning Original

The doorbell chimed to the tune of the floral dance and I did my usual cringe that I do every time it chimes, Chris programmed it when we first got it and to be honest he was thrilled to bits with the result, I however try to let it finish before I open the door but as I have the builders in they had already laughed their socks off at the sound coming out of it.

I opened the door to a delivery driver asking for Jak Heath As the parcel had to be signed for. I advised that I was Jak to which he looked me up and down obviously expecting Jak to be of the male variety.

I saw Mo's name on the box and immediately became very excited to the amusement of the builders. I took my scissors and carefully opened up the box, I didn't know what was inside but I thought I had better open it carefully.

For those of you that don't yet know of Mo Manning she is a very talented artist friend who never ceases to amaze me, she writes and illustrates children's books, creates the most amazing image stamps for the crafting world both in Rubber and as Digital images.

The contents of the box just left me speechless, something that is a rarity for me. This is something that I totally fell in love with when Mo created it.

Meet Mary Lennox, created on 18th January 2014

Isn't she gorgeous, the concentration in her face, so very studious for such a dainty soul

And the little robin peeping out from behind her.

The back view.

I will truly treasure this.

Thank you Mo x

Renovations Update

We are getting there slowly, hopefully we will see much more improvement by the end of play on Monday. Here is a few photos of where we are up to.

The window wall, still awaiting the rising damp treatment, it has had the coating to stop any more sulphur coming through so at least the first step has been done.

This is the pantry off shot, it has had the same anti sulphur treatment and it now has a new ceiling.

The other walls have been skimmed and are finished just awaiting paint, new skirting boards and coving.

Once all is finished on the walls the carpet will come up ready for painting and skirting boards then when all is finished a new carpet will be laid.

Preston Park

I had to get out of this house this weekend, the renovations are just dragging me down and what better way to cheer me up than getting out in the fresh air.

Every year Preston park has a fire engine themed weekend from vintage to present day engines on display and an arena with regular events on show to please and delight onlookers.

There is stalls with arts and crafts and local traders and all in the beautiful grounds of the Preston Hall museum.

I had to giggle while going in to the event when I spotted this little girl giving her pet dog a ride in the back of her bicycle.

If you live close to this event it is well worth a visit and it is on tomorrow too.

Growing Mushrooms

What a week I've had and it's only Wednesday.
We knew this year we were going to have to sort out the back room to our house, the wall leading to the outside of the house was damp and the little pantry offshot was very damp.
I got the shock of my life when bottoming the back room, I went to close a door which is always open up against the wall and was faced with the most wonderful large specimen of a mushroom. I just sat and cried. I wanted to move house, somewhere that was new and not over 100 years old as ours is.
Thankfully we know a builder who is wonderful and he is here as I type knocking the walls back to brick ready to treat them, then rebuild them back.
I did however catch him doing his Oor Wullie impression sitting on a bucket in the yard catching a sneaky break.
Now I know you all want to see the specimen that I found so here it is in all of its glory.
Isn't it a beauty?

One Image Four Looks

I just wanted to show the value of Digital Stamps, in this day every penny counts so the more use we get from our crafty goods the better. I love that with both digital stamps and rubber stamps you can change colours and get further inspiration from the colour change.

This one is Pucker Up from Mo’s Digital Pencil and shows this colour change perfectly.

Pucker up1

The first being brown toned hair, keeping the skin tones tanned and green eyes and vest top.

Pucker up2

Next up is the red head, keeping a fairer complexion with hazel eyes and an aqua coloured vest top.

Pucker up3

Next comes blonde hair, pale complexion, baby blue eyes and a wine coloured vest top

Pucker up5

Lastly is the strawberry blonde with brown eyes warm complexion and burnt orange vest top.

Free Image Card

It started buy buying some crafty bits, you know how it is right?

I bought a pack of buttons, pretty metal ones and soon realised that the packaging was just too darn pretty to throw away.

I carefully removed the buttons then got to work adapting the packaging into a card.

sontoro1

Really it was like one of those buy 1 and get 1 free moments.

The patterned card and the images all came from the button box. Santoro Mirabelle from Riverside Crafts in Market Deeping.

sontoro2

I did use one of the buttons entwined into a silk ribbon.

sontoro3

Also a Fantastic Ribbons ribbon and a Mei Flower ribbon slide and pearls.

Blog Hop day tomorrow, be sure to hop back here.

Designing for Jack–T-Shirts

Hard to believe but Jack will be 5 next month and I thought it would be pretty awesome if he had his own designer wear.

I designed some T-Shirt slogans for him cut them out in Vinyl on the Silhouette Portrait and then heat pressed them onto the shirts.

This one is Oh so true.

A Card and a Confession.

Grandson Jack came over today and I had started to make a card last night and did a little decoupage but hadn’t done much else. So Jack helped me today to finish the card off. I got out some dies and put Jack in control of the eBosser machine which he found amazing, He put the plates and dies in the front and then ran around to the back to watch them come out, isn’t technology marvellous? we then measured cut and stuck all of the components together and made a smashing card. Decoupage is from the Hunkydory decoupage book Sports and Leisure

We used Memory Box dies a trellis and a vine flourish.

and this pretty decoupage from the book.

All of the card is from Create and Craft TV here

So onto my confession…… My healthy eating went down the pan, I started having treats and cheating, secret eating in abundance. work patterns, being away from home and having to eat from service stations too many tempting foods.

So there it is in a nutshell, My name is Jak Heath and I am a secret eater.

Now that is the first step, I confessed to the world, the next step is to put it right and I have started to do that already, 2 bike rides this weekend and healthy eating, the tester will be when I have to go to Peterborough but I’m determined to get back on track.

Quality time.

My wonderful man came with me to Peterborough this time round, we even brought our bikes, of course I was here to work so today was the first chance I got to get out.

We headed over to Ferry Meadows and I have to say this is oh so beautiful.

I loved that we got out in the fresh air and some time to relax

These are my snazzy over the top sunglasses for when I am out on the bike, they pop right over the top of my everyday glasses.

Everything is Better when we're together.

Truly it is. It's so important to take time out together.

Our day had just began but we wanted to show you this wonderful place.

Once I had done my shows at Create and Craft we decided to go out to dinner and Dean Wilson (presenter) pointed us in the right direction to a wonderful evening.

A quaint little pub in a quaint little village.

We are both quite tall and we were conscious of the low beams.

The bar was full of delightful temptations.

And dinner was just scrumptious.

Oh yes I even had a sneaky half of San Miguel

The a little stroll around the village to stretch out the dinner tummy.
