Mother to be 2

With this wonderful Mother to Be 2 image by Mo Manning I tried to be a little more daring and coloured the image with black skin tones with the Promarkers, this was a first for me and i have to say that I am quite pleased with the results, the pretty papers were in a set I bought from QVC , buttons bows and blossom and a oval pin to make the card and a bit of love to put it together.

Attention to detail...

the ribbon is tied into a pretty bow then the blossom stem was wrapped around the centre of the bow to keep it in place, finally the oval pearl pin secures the bow to the card by pinning it through the ribbon and down the back of the background paper.

Studio Sketches

I don't know what is is about these sketches but I just think that they ooze Tuscany, they are one of the hostess gift sets from Stampin Up mini catalogue and as soon as I saw then I new that I had to have the stamp set.

Attention to detail...

I stamped the focal image onto kraft card and coloured it with Promarkers then distressed the edges of the card to give it a rustic look.

A Little Birdie Told me...

For this card I used cream and pink card, Bella Toile background stamp and pale plum ink pad and the 2 in 1 bird punch (all from Stampin Up) Martha Stewart Border punch (Doily Lace) die - cut flowers, Nestabilities Label dies cream ribbon and flowers from Wild orchid Crafts.

Lastly a bit of love to put it all together
Attention to detail...
Using the same background stamp Bella Toile from Stampin Up and the same pale plum ink pad I stamped both the cream and the pink card so that the theme was carried throughout the card.
I used the Martha Stewart (doily Lace) border punch on the pink card and finished by tying a cream ribbon on top.

I used the same background stamp on the wing of the bird and a little gem to dot the eye.

Blue Eyed Boy - Jack 23rd April

Jack is tiring himself out with all the crawling he is doing, he tends to give in to sleep much better now and just falls asleep on the floor, so we just cover him over to keep the drafts off him and to be honest with you he is so lively when he is awake you wouldn't dare let him sleep on the sofa in case he rolls off.

So onto the blue eyed boy picture.
Mmmmm he just melts his Grans heart...

Congratulations Paula, if you send me an email with your details on, I will pop the card in the post for you.
There is a little story behind today's card, when I first started to make cards many many years ago both myself and my Mam fell in love with this stamp it is by PSX and called Bird Bath, I decided not long after buying the stamp that I was giving up crafting as my girls were toddling and I had nowhere safe to keep my craft stash out of little girls reach.
I actually sold all of my stash (scary) then maybe a year later I was missing crafting so much that I started again but of course I no longer had this stamp.
Today my Mam came visiting and brought with her a bag of stamps which she no longer used and this little beauty was in the bag, I know that my Mam often visits my blog so I have a feeling that she may want this stamp back ha ha (too late Mam it's mine now).
I coloured the stamp image with Promarkers then used the Nestabilities Ovals to cut it out and also some scallop ovals in aqua and lemon. I used the Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls folder to emboss the aqua background card and added a matching striped paper to the left side of this. lots of matting and layering, some pearls and ribbon and a bit of love to put it together.

If you would like to win this card please leave me a comment and I will do a draw for it.

If you would like to drop me a line with your details on I'll pop it in the post for you.
So on to today's card
Ooooo the power of masking tape, I started the card by masking off a strip along the top and the bottom of a piece of card then using teal ink and a sponge I blended the ink into the centre of the card, using the same ink I stamped the flourish from the silent night stamp set (Papertrey Ink) and stamped around the edges of the blended centre. After removing the masking tape I embossed both top and bottom of the card with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots A2 embossing folder.
I stamped a sentiment from Stampin Up and used the circle punch to cut it out.
After that a bit of matting a layering and a ribbon and a couple of charms were added.

If you would like to have this card then please leave me a comment and I'll do a draw for it.

If you could drop me an email with your details on hun I'll drop it in the post for you.

On to today's card

This reminds me so much of my 2 girls when they were children, they were never happier that helping me with the housework, in fact Natalie had a little toy iron and ironing board that she used to drag out, she always got the tea towels and the dusters to iron whilst I got the dreaded shirts, ha ha.
I shaped the corners of the white card with a circle punch, I just judged a quarter circle cut by turning the punch upside down so that I could see where it would punch out the card.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and then stamped the white image with red ink, tiny flower stamp and a fancy border stamp. 4 pearls 1 in each corner a couple of pretty ribbons, faux stitching around the card with a white gel pen, a Prima flower and a bit of love went into making the card.

Cinderella is one of many digi stamp images by Mo Manning it can be purchased at Digital Pencil Too.

If you would like this card leave me a comment and I'll do a draw for it.

Tranquility - Boat Scene

Tranquility at its best.

Teal and Kraft Card and Espresso and Ocean tides ink pads, button and twine and twill tape a bit of blending, a boat scene stamp, Nestabilities label dies an argyle embossing folder and a water brush all helped to make this card.

Most of the image was water coloured but for those eagle eyed amongst you, you will see the edging to the Argyle Embossed Kraft card and the shading below the boats, this was both done with Promarkers.
The Boat scene stamp has no maker on the side of it, it was bought a few years ago at a craft fair. The other stamps (Compass and round swirls ) are from the Father Knows best stamp set by PTI.

If you would like this card leave me a comment and I'll do a draw for it.

Vintage card - Ophelia

My first love when I started card making was/is vintage, I love the soft muted tones, the romance and the dreaminess of a by gone era. This stamp is called Ophelia, for those that don't know Ophelia is a Character in Hamlet wrote by William Shakespeare and she fell in love with Hamlet and was so rejected by him that she went insane.
I used olive green and wine coloured ink, pretty cherry blossoms a text stamp by Stampin Up and a bit of love to finish the card.

Attention to detail...

A close up of Ophelia, distressed edges, notebook spiral punch used too, you can see the vines in the bottom right corner, just very thin pieces of card wrapped around my tweezers into a spiral shape.

I found the most pretty ribbon in my local haberdashery, hearts, shear ribbon and beads, what more could I ask for?

Glorious Day

This is Jacks first sit on grass, it is my neighbours garden as we don't have grass in ours, he giggled every time his little hands touched the grass.
We went out for a stroll this morning then after dinner he got to play on the grass.
I got a vidoe took of him trying to crawl and if I can work out how to upload it from my phone I'll add it later.

Children love to be out and about, they are so much happier in the fresh air.

Project of the Month Blog Hop - Buttons

We will hold this every third Thursday of the month , we aim to give you a little inspiration and hopefully a few Oooo's and Awe's along the way, The Dream Team is made up with some of the most talented ladies so be sure to give them all a visit.

The Hop is starting with Cheryl this month & the theme is Buttons

Smell the flowers with Baby Fairy Flora she can be purchased from Digital Pencil Too, would she make the perfect card for a little girl or even from a little girl to send to someone?
I coloured her with Promarkers, added pretty papers a piece of lace, BUTTONS, Pearls and ribbon and finished with a bit of love.

Attention to detail...

A blossom made with scalloped circles spritzed with water and scrunched into tiny balls then opened up carefully and layed to one side to dry, once dry I threaded a narrow ribbon through all of the circled and threaded on my first button as the centre of the flower then tied the ribbon into a bow.

My second button you will need to look closely for as it is a pink tinted glass flower, i popped a pearl on top to make it a little easier to see and some punched foliage behind it.

Be sure to pop over to Liza next I just know she will have something amazing to show you.
If you get lost along the way I have a full list of the Design Team on my side bar.
