From the printing press to the internet and beyond, the mission of Texas’ oldest newspaper has changed little since that first edition in 1842: Tell the stories of Galveston County — one day at a time.
Telling those stories has kept The Daily News alive and vital over the years. It has been a long, strange trip and a wonderful one. Thanks for joining us.
The Daily News is privately held by Southern Newspapers Inc., home to a dozen other local community newspapers.
The Daily News also publishes the award-winning Coast Monthly magazine and many other popular titles. Additionally, The Daily News serves the region by printing newspapers for independent owners throughout the Houston area.
