Sophia Bush was the victim of a burglary at her home in Los Angeles in which the thief took a $36 book from the garage of her home.
The 42-year-old actress was sleeping in the home at the time the crime was committed last week, police sources told TMZ Sunday.
The Pasadena, California native - who was pictured Sunday in Paris with her partner, pro soccer player Ashlyn Harris, 39 - had bought the book as a gift to give someone over the holidays, sources told the outlet.
Bush, who appeared on the TV series One Tree Hill, was apprised of the crime after an associate who works for her noticed that her garage door had been left open.
The associated looked at security footage and saw the burglar illegally making their way onto the premises, at which point the incident and footage were forwarded to police.
Police have not yet arrested anyone in connection with the theft.

Bush - who has also been seen on Chicago P.D., Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and This Is Us - is the latest notable name to be targeted in a home burglary as the year winds down.
This past summer, the Southern California homes of stars such as Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson; Marlon Wayans, Sarah Hyland and Bhad Bhabie were all robbed.
More recently, NFL players including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow were also targeted in thefts federal officials said was the result of organized criminal efforts.
Prior to her romance with Harris, Bush filed for divorce from businessman Grant Hughes, 43, after a 14-month marriage.
Bush in August of 2023 filed for the split, alluding to the drastic life change in an Instagram post at the time.
'Sometimes you have to remind yourself that you're something special,' Bush said. 'That you can't be replaced. Your heart, your mind, your conversation, your care, it can't be replaced. By anyone.'
Harris, a native of Cocoa Beach, Florida, is a two-time World Cup champion goalkeeper, in 2015 and 2019.
Harris made headlines in her September 2023 divorce filing from fellow soccer star Ali Krieger, 40.

The split came more than three years after they were wed in December of 2019 in Miami at the at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
Krieger, who shares daughter Sloane and son Ocean with Harris, told Self Magazine earlier this year that she had been caught off-guard by the divorce filing.
Krieger said she 'found out at training' for the NY/NJ Gotham FC, and that her teammates rallied around her amid the difficult timeframe.
'I was on the field,' Krieger said. 'And I came off the field, in the locker room, and I was obviously devastated. My entire team came over for a dance party the night the news broke.'
Krieger has moved on romantically in a relationship with Scottish soccer player Jen Beattie, 33, as the couple was seen celebrating their romance in a Thanksgiving-themed post on Instagram Stories.
