Kraven the Hunter missed its target during it's box office debut, coming in a distant third behind the returning champ Moana 2 and Wicked: Part One.
The Spider-Man spinoff starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the webbed wonder's foe underwhelmed audiences, pulling in only $11 million dollars, well behind Moana's $26.6 million and Wicked's $22.5 million, according to data compiled by The Numbers.
The Sony film about the Marvel superhero experienced one of the worst debut weekends for any of the franchise's offerings, coming in well behind the much maligned Madame Web, which scraped by with a $15.3 million debut in February.
The action adventure, which focuses on Kraven's back story, fell flat with critics who gave it a 15-percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences were much kinder, with a 73-percent score.
Moana 2 continues to delight moviegoers around the world.
The animated adventure has earned a global total of $717,016,469, so far, after three weeks in theaters.

Wicked: Part 1 continued to fill theater seats, with many audience members being there for a repeat viewing.

Gladiator 2 is still swinging, this week landing in fourth place.
The blockbuster starring Denzel Washington, Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal, earned $7.8 million over the weekend.
While it has not been as popular domestically as Wicked and Moana, the film has excelled internationally, earning $252.6 million so far, well ahead of the number for Wicked ($165.9m), but not Moana, which has pulled in $379.5 million at theaters around the world.
Newcomer The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, rounded out the top five, debuting with $4.6 million domestically and another $5.7 internationally.
