Mark Mason, 51, and his wife Wendy, 53, admitted hoarding a stash of extreme pornography as well as indecent of children at their home in Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire. The sick pair appeared at Dumfries Sheriff Court where they admitted a string of charges spanning between February 2021 and April 2022. Mr Mason admitted possessing extreme pornography and indecent images of children as well as attempting to indecently speak to six children who were actually undercover adults working to weed out predators online. His wife also pled guilty to possessing and sharing indecent photos of children as well as extreme pornography.

Olly Murs left his fans in tears when he uncovered the tragic story of his great grandmother on Thursday's 'saddest ever' episode of Who Do You Think You Are.  The singer, 40, set out to learn more about his paternal great grandparents who hailed from Riga in Latvia, going on to discover they were circus performers.  At the start of the episode, Olly explained how his grandfather last saw his mother when he was 12-years-old, with the incident effecting him throughout his life.

District Court Judge Kevin Mullins was fatally shot inside his chambers at the Lechter County Courthouse at around 3pm on Thursday, and a local sheriff has now been arrested for his murder. Sheriff Mickey Stines allegedly walked into the judge's outer office, told court employees and others gathered there he needed to speak to Mullins alone. He and Mullins then entered the judge's inner office, closed the door and those outside heard gunshots, according to The Mountain Eagle.

Hungarian company BAC Consulting, said to have supplied the pagers, was really part of an Israeli front, according to three intelligence officers spoken to by the New York Times. The firm was run by glamorous 'scientist' Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono who boasted of speaking seven languages and being educated in politics at the London School of Economics (LSE)and having a PhD in physics from University College London.

Local police were rushed to Erasmus Bridge, a landmark in the area, after reports of a knifeman on the lose on Thursday night. There they found two victims - one who had been fatally injured. The force also arrested the suspect, who was taken to hospital for treatment.

Designers of the DreamSuite said it could boost comfort for budget passengers on overnight sleeper services and long-distance daytime journeys. The toddler, whose name was today confirmed by a coroners' court as Carter Walsh, was fatally injured in the accident at his home in Wigan, Greater Manchester. It is understood that Carter was crushed when the fireplace and adjoining television collapsed. Carter was rushed to hospital with serious injuries yesterday but sadly died a short time later. Death, it occurred to me while watching the new Netflix release His Three Daughters, has been more of a constant in cinematic story-telling than anything else, including love. From the earliest motion pictures, death has loomed large on the silver screen, although normally, for manifest dramatic reasons, of the sudden violent kind. Understandably, the sort of death with which most of us become familiar at least a few times in our lives, the drawn-out passing of a parent or friend, is dramatised far less often. But when it is done well, it can be more moving, more thought-provoking, than almost anything. That's why the new Pedro Almodovar film, The Room Next Door, won the main prize at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month. It's a compelling study, superbly acted by Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore , of the ethics and manners surrounding the right of a terminally ill person to choose how and when to die.

Adapted by Richard Short and Barry Sloane (who also plays Lennon) from the Michael Lindsay-Hogg film written by Mark Stanfield, it's a moving, absorbing and melancholy account of the last time the two Beatles met.
