Residential Lead Assessment

The goal of the Lead Home Assessment program is to reduce lead hazards in the homes of people with elevated blood lead levels.

Program Staff:

• Perform inspections of homes with lead-poisoned children to identify lead hazards
• Work with property owners of homes identified to have lead hazards to reduce the risk of lead exposures in the home
• Provide information to the public regarding lead hazards and methods on reducing these hazards.

The Environmental Health Division and the Community Health Services Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program of the Cayuga County Health Department work together in efforts to reduce lead poisoning.
