Food Program

The goal of the Food Services Establishments program is to prevent environmental illness related to food preparation and consumption. The Environmental Health Division issues permits to all temporary and permanent food services establishments in Cayuga County.

Program staff perform inspections of food service facilities, review and approve plans of new or modified food service facilities to ensure they meet the standards, investigate food-borne illness outbreaks, and investigate food service facility complaints.

The Environmental Health Division also provides information and education concerning food safety issues to members of the public.
