Mount Storm King is one of the most popular trails at Lake Crescent. Even with its popularity, it does come with some serious considerations before hiking.
The trail climbs steeply the first 2 miles to an "End of Maintained Trail" sign. Olympic National Park does not maintain the trail above this point.
The last 1/4 mile involves a steep rocky trail with a series of ropes. These ropes can only be used by one person at a time and help hikers ascend and descend this steeper section. The...

Lake Angeles is a stunning alpine lake in the Olympic Mountains surrounded by lush montane and subalpine forests. The trail begins at the Heart O' the Hills Trailhead, next to Lake Dawn. It takes you to Lake Angeles Campground and Lake Angeles. The terrain on the path features a steady incline with some steeper sections towards the lake. Do not attempt to summit Mt. Angeles without proper equipment and experience. Scrambling and route-finding skills are needed to access the summit.
After fork from ridge trail, trail steepens. Good stamina required. As you approach cliff, loose scree makes it tougher. Keeping left is important. Avoid the temptation to go straight up. As you get closer, becomes steep 3rd class. Should not be attempted without proper boots. The last pitch is pushing the definition of 3rd class, as there is...

This trail is a quick climb on a well maintained trail. The viewpoint provides great views of British Columbia, the water and the surrounding mountains. This trail has a great payoff for how easy of a hike it is. Beautiful views, deer, and marmot.
Hurricane Ridge Road is subject to seasonal closure during the winter. For more information on current status, please see https://www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/conditions.htm

Gorgeous old-growth forest trail with glimpses of the water. The elevation is a bit of a roller coaster, and the trail does get slippery when it’s raining. Trekking poles and sturdy footwear are recommended. This is a very quiet and beautiful trail. Bug spray is recommended during the summer months.
