This is a hard trail that is totally worth. It is 100% switchbacks all the way up 2000 ft gain. The hardest part is probably the ropes. But it’s totally worth it beautiful views people are helpful and patient. No dogs allowed and no way that you would be able to bring yours.

Ignore the mileage- forgot to turn it off after getting in the car. Made the mistake of bringing my dog! No dogs allowed! There was a 3 mile loop of road closed off for cars- still a beautiful walk. Saw a bear, baby deer, woodchucks.

A gradual incline with limited views until the summit… but oh is it worth it! The lake is beautiful and a great place for lunch and a dip on a nice day (60 and sunny and a little chilly after a dip, but doable and worth it)! It only took ~1-1.5 hours to get to the summit and 1 hour back, so no more than 3 hour total hiking. Definitely take your time to enjoy the views and the sun on a nice day. It wasn’t too busy and parking was easy! No dogs or bathrooms on site and right before the park entrance so no need for a park pass.
